Keep it simple

Keep it simple

When you’re ready to solve a problem, try simple solutions first. You may be surprised at how often simple works best. Complex solutions are best for when simple no longer works.

If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.

If you’re always tired, you probably need more sleep. Go to bed 30 minutes earlier than usual for a week or two and see what happens. If you struggle to fall asleep at night, avoid phone, TV and computer screens for an hour or two before bed. Keep lights as dim as practical after dark.

The go to option for most of us to get lean is to consume fewer calories, burn more or both. A simple way to reduce calories is to switch from processed to whole foods. For example, trade your sandwiches for salads and trade baked goods for fruits and vegetables. To burn more calories, go for a walk after lunch, dinner or both.

What simple solutions have worked well for you? What opportunities do you have to try another simple fix?

Hopefully, my questions cause you to reflect on your own thinking, relationships or choices. Maybe I even inspire you to make positive changes.
