Another try
If you try something that’s supposed to be really good for you and don’t like it, you might need to give it another chance. Maybe you weren’t ready or it wasn’t the right one for you.
I tried meditation a couple of different ways and didn’t really notice any benefits. Then I tried a method that measures heart rate variability and I learned to feel what it’s like to be in a more coherent state. Now when I do other types of meditation, I can feel a difference.
If you’ve tried yoga or another movement practice and didn’t enjoy it, maybe you should try a different teacher or different style. For every type of practice, there are endless styles and a range of teachers. The right one can change your life.
Whether it’s meditation, movement, eating or other healthy habits, finding what’s right for you takes trial, error and perseverance. The more you’re willing to look, the more likely you’ll find exactly what you need.
What’s a healthy habit of yours that you didn’t like at first?
Hopefully, my questions cause you to reflect on your own thinking, relationships or choices. Maybe I even inspire you to make positive changes.
