Vote with action
Choices we make and actions we take are votes for who we will become. One of the challenges is that it takes a while for the votes to be tallied. We can place votes for a long time and then wake up one day wondering where we went wrong. If we’re honest with ourselves, we should be able to see where we’re headed. Which of the following do you choose more often than not?
- Eat a salad or eat a sandwich
- Go for a walk or sit on the couch
- Read a book or watch TV / scroll through social media
- Connect with friends and family or watch the news
- Have empathy or pass judgment
- Have a difficult conversation or go along to get along
- Be part of the solution or accept the problem
When you consider what you have been doing every day, who you do expect to become?
Hopefully, my questions cause you to reflect on your own thinking, relationships or choices. Maybe I even inspire you to make positive changes.

Stressed out?
I have a theory about why some people have chronically high stress and others do not. Your tolerance for stress equals the stress you are willing to accept. A high tolerance for stress means you can feel a lot of stress and just carry on....
Enjoy every step

Persistence in relationships
I've written previously about persistence in overcoming problems. I’ve also written about the need to keep going when things get tough. I realized today that another area where persistence pays off is in relationships (healthy ones). (If you have a toxic relationship,...
Was it Karma?
When I was in my 20s, I had a friend who did things that suggested that he believed the world revolved around him. Sometimes it caught up with him. One time he parked in the spot reserved for wheelchair-accessible vehicles while we went into a store. When we came out,...
