Welcome distractions

Welcome distractions

It’s amazing how productive you can be when trying to avoid a particular task. As I was preparing to write a blog post, I managed to create my to do list for next week, catch up on a bunch of emails and tidy the kitchen and dining room.

Maybe that’s one of the keys to being productive. Make sure your to do list includes items with a range of difficulty. You get all the other things done just trying to avoid the most challenging one. Side benefit – doing a bunch of the easier items gives you momentum and then you feel more ready to tackle something bigger.

What are your go to distractions when avoiding a big task?

Hopefully, my questions cause you to reflect on your own thinking, relationships or choices. Maybe I even inspire you to make positive changes.

We’re at the airport getting ready to head home. We have a different airline to get home and they charge extra for carry on items. Seriously? If we don’t pay, you leave all the overheads empty? You’re going to charge me to put a bag under the seat in front of me? At...

Harder than it looks

Trish and I are enjoying a weekend in Las Vegas with some friends. We stumbled on an artist making pictures with spray paint. From start to finish, he produced a beautiful picture in less than 10 minutes. He did it again and again and made it look easy. I wonder how...
