Stop and think

Stop and think

One of the responses to Get back on the horse was someone who wants to watch eating habits & make better choices. I’m in the same boat so I suggested a challenge for the next week:

When we’re reaching for the bad choice, ask ourselves, “Is it worth it?”

She added, “And wait for the Honest answer.”

I’ve written about this before and I’m happy to be reminded to stop and think. It already helped me when I went out to grab lunch yesterday. This little push is exactly what I needed and I look forward to seeing some results over the next 4 to 6 weeks.

Would you make some different choices if you pause to ask yourself, “Is it worth it?” and wait for an honest answer?

Hopefully, my questions cause you to reflect on your own thinking, relationships or choices. Maybe I even inspire you to make positive changes.

Play

We had a great movement workshop yesterday. As usual, we challenged people to try lots of things that they would not do on their own. One of the things we did was lie on our backs and roll to our fronts without using our hands. It was more fun than...

Velocity made good

In sailing, heading aggressively towards you destination might not be the fastest route. Sailboats cannot sail directly into the wind and sailing directly downwind can be relatively slow. More important than boat speed is progress towards your destination, known as...

What should I eat?

What should I eat?

I was reviewing a recent blood test (advanced lipid panel), trying to figure out what was causing some adverse results. Surprisingly, some of my “healthy” choices might be part of the problem. It seems like every food that helps one thing is bad for something else....
